How do I enter chapter ranges?

Do ranges use printed page numbers?
No. Use 1-based PDF page positions, including the cover and front matter. Printed numbers or Roman numerals may differ. Check the chapter boundaries in your PDF viewer before entering ranges.
What format is the output when I split a PDF?
A ZIP archive containing a PDF for each output group, including when only one group is requested. Extract the archive and check the chapter files before sharing.
Does the free PDF splitter add watermarks?
No extra watermark is added. Existing marks in the source pages are not removed.
Can I split using bookmarks or a target file size?
Split by Bookmark and Split by Size are separate tools that require a free account. Bookmark splitting needs existing PDF bookmarks, not printed chapter headings. Check the resulting chapter coverage and file sizes against your requirements.
