How many PDFs can I merge at once?
Merge needs at least two PDFs. Anonymous use allows up to 20 files, with 25 MB per file and 25 MB combined per operation. Free-account and Pro use allow up to 20 files, with 100 MB per file and 100 MB combined per operation. Max allows up to 100 files within that same 100 MB combined limit. Tool and plan limits still apply.
Does the size limit apply to each PDF or the whole merge?
Both. Two 15 MB PDFs are individually below 25 MB but total 30 MB, so they exceed the anonymous 25 MB operation limit. Signed-in use supports up to 100 MB per file and 100 MB combined per operation, not 100 MB multiplied by the number of files.
Can I upload JPG, PNG, or Word files to Merge PDF?
No. Merge PDF accepts PDF files only. Convert JPG/PNG scans with Images to PDF, or a Word document with Word to PDF, then upload the converted PDFs here. These are separate operations; download each converted result after email confirmation.
Does dragging files change individual page order?
No. It changes the order of whole files. Merging a three-page A.pdf before a two-page B.pdf produces A1, A2, A3, B1, B2. Use Rearrange Pages afterward if individual pages need to move.
Does the free PDF merger add a watermark?
No extra watermark is added by ZiaSign. Watermarks already in your source PDFs are not removed by merging.
What should I check in the merged PDF?
Review page order, orientation, readability, links, and form fields against your originals. Merging creates a new document; it does not repair poor scans or perform OCR.
Can I merge password-protected or digitally signed PDFs?
Unlock an authorized copy using the correct password before merging. Keep digitally signed originals separately: a merged PDF is a new document and must not be treated as preserving the originals' digital signatures or certification.
